Dear Teachers
Wonkwang University Language Center, located in Iksan, Jeollabuk-do, SouthKorea, is looking for some qualified and enthusiastic teachers. Iksan is a quite and friendly city that enjoys all the amenities of larger urban centers .Successful applicants will begin a one-year, full-time contract on September 1, 2010.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university
Native English speaker
TESOL training or experience in teaching TESOL is preferred
Salary: Korean 2,300,000 Won
Hours: 88 hours/month, Monday thru Friday
Overtime: paid at a rate of 30,000 Won an hour
Housing: 300,000 Won a month housing allowance
Housing can be arranged prior to arrival
Airfare: Airfare allowance paid up to 1,500,000 Won, usually depending on point of departure. Half paid on arrival, half on completion of the last contract.
Pension and Medical Insurance: Contributions are paid half and half by employer and employee.
Severance Pay: Equal to one month’s salary will be paid within a month of the completion of contract.
Holidays: 2 weeks paid holiday respectively in the Winter and Summer, in addition to all applicable national holidays and 2 weeks of reduced schedule twice a year.
Schedules: Schedules at Wonkwang University Language Center typically consist of both adult and children classes.
8:00amto8:50am– Adult classes
9:00amto9:50am– Adult classes
3:30pmto4:15pm– Kids classes
4:30pmto5:15pm– Kids classes
5:30pmto6:20pm– Adult classes & Kids classes
6:30pmto7:20pm– Adult classes
(7:30pmto9:20pm– Language Dorm Classes)
You will teach a combination of five of those classes each day, which adds up to 22 hours per week. Everyone has two children’s classes, so you need to be comfortable teaching children.
