Food in Japan

There are more and more people having breakfast with North-American style. They have cereal, bread, bread, milk, juice, etc. The traditional breakfast are like rice, miso soup, pickled plum, vegetable, fish, etc.

At noon , workers and students will have lunch [ohiru]. [bento] is like their lunch box, they will have rice, 2-3 vegetables, and mean dish or they will just go to the restaurants to have [sushi].

Be aware of [fugu], the globe fish, when you are eating out. They are poisonous. The chefs have to get rid off glands before they serve, because the glands contain poison. There are 180 to 200 people are killed every year by eating improperly prepared [fugu].

Dinner is the time for the family gathering to eat. They will have dinner with their tea or [sake], means wine, which you have it warm or cold. Before the meal, they will say [itadokimosu], means thanks for the meal. When you finish, you will say [goshisosamadeshita], mean thanks for the wonderful meal.

Tea ceremony [chanoyu] focuses on achieving peaceful in minds. It's been around 600 years.
